I Believe in Laws and Covenants

I Believe in Laws and Covenants

I believe in laws and covenants and the importance they play in my life.  Laws and Covenants have existed since Adam and are essential in mans ability to return to live with Father in Heaven.  In Mosiah 13:30, we read; “Therefore there was a law given them, yea, a law of performances and of ordinances, a law which they were to observe strictly from day to day, to keep them in remembrance of God and their duty towards him.” I believe laws and covenants do the same things for us today as they did for the children of Israel in their day.  They are meant to help us keep in our remembrance Christ and what He has done for us and our duty towards Him.  The first covenant we make is the covenant of baptism where we covenant to take upon us His name, to always remember Him and to keep His commandments.  We renew this covenant each week as we partake of the sacrament.  We hear those same words, “always remember him”.  We are to strictly observe, in other words attend sacrament meeting each week, to keep us in remembrance of Him and our duty towards Him.  The temple laws and covenants point us towards our Savior and we are His guests each time we visit the temple.  We are in His house and are His guests.  We are admonished to attend the temple regularly, why, so that it, the temple, can keep us in remembrance of Him and our duty towards Him.   I believe in laws and covenants and that they help me keep in remembrance Christ and my duty towards Him.
